The 55th anniversaries of THCI journal “Thought and Words” took place in June 24 at College of Liberal Arts in National Taiwan University in 2017. UDP’s Editor-in-Chief Nancy Wuu felt highly honored to deliver the keynote speech for the professional audience — professors from National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University and research fellows from Academia Sinica.
Wuu addressed on the topic of “The Evolution of ‘Thought and Words’ over the half century — from the perspective of a digital archivist.” Her speech went through the difficult postwar ear from Chiang Kai-shek, Chiang Ching-kuo to the first elected president Lee Teng-hui, the first president from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chen Shui-bian and the following president Ma Ying-jeou from Kuomintang (KMT).
Those important issues that have been discussed within “Thought and Words” journal during these 55 years witnessed the political democratization progress before and after the martial law in Taiwan.
